Mexican rebar prices see decent increase

In the past two weeks, the domestic price of Mexican rebar increased US$30/ mt to reach US$694/mt ex-mill.

Construction industry sources estimate a growth of 11 percent this year, despite lower economic growth than anticipated and the depreciation of the peso against the dollar, because most of the materials used for housing construction are made in Mexico.  
Additionally, there is an expectation of increased activity among medium-size developers, which sources say is beneficial to the longs market because such transactions involve a variety of smaller distributors.
