Local Turkish wire rod prices move sideways

Turkish official domestic wire rod prices have remained unchanged over the past week. The main reasons are the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and the unclear financial situation in Turkey. A few mills are implementing aggressive pricing policies in order to generate sales.

Most Turkish mills are offering for late October delivery, while a limited tonnage is available for delivery from stocks depending on the size and quality.

One Iskenderun-based mill has kept its official wire rod price at $720/mt ex-works over the past week. Maintenance is still being carried out at another mill in the region. As a result, the supplier is not quoting any wire rod price yet.
