Today, June 24, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 300-600/mt ($15-29/mt) amid weaker import scrap prices.12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 12,250-12,800/mt or $597-624/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its official rebar price at $660/mt ex-works today. Sources report workable rebar prices are available at $630-640/mt ex-works in the Marmara region.
One Izmir-based mill is applying an aggressive pricing policy to generate sales. According to sources, around 25,000 mt of rebar were traded in this region at $600/mt ex-works yesterday. In addition, a sizeable discount is also offered today and even $580/mt ex-works level is rumored, though not confirmed by the time of publication.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller opened its rebar sales and closed them after a couple of hours, at TRY 12,700/mt ($619/mt) ex-warehouse today.
Some local traders are panicking and are not in a rush to restock material under these unclear market conditions.
