Due to the tightness of rebar supply in Turkey’s Iskenderun region as well as the attempts of Ankara-based buyers to buy rebar from the Karabük region instead of from Iskenderun, local Turkish rebar spot prices have increased slightly in these regions. Meanwhile, spot rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions have remained stable.
Today, August 23, Turkish mill Izmir Demir Celik has increased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 42/mt to TRY 2,627/mt ($455/mt) ex-works, while Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices unchanged at 2,627/mt ($455/mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT.
