In the local market of Turkey a Marmara region-based mill has purchased 10,000 mt of billet from a neighboring supplier and 5,000 mt from the seller from Karabuk area, both at $620/mt CPT, SteelOrbis has learned. In the Iskenderun region the latest deals were closed at $605-609/mt ex-works, as was reported earlier. Last week the offers in the domestic market were settled at $590-600/mt ex-works.
Import billet offers from the first tier CIS-based suppliers have been reported at $620-630/mt CFR, $20-30/mt up over the week. The levels from the east of Ukraine have been set at $610-615/mt CFR depending on the region. According to some sources, small billet lots have been sold last week from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan within $520-550/mt DAP Karabuk region. In addition, some of the market players have reported a total of 20,000 mt billet deals by a Rostov-based producer over the past two weeks at up to $570/mt CFR.
In the export segment Turkey’s targets have been reported this week at $620-625/mt FOB, but the activity has been limited. The deal to Peru has been heard in the market as closed at $638/mt FOB effective, but the information has not been confirmed by the time of publication.
