Latest situation in Omani wire rod market

According to market sources, local producers' quotations for 5.5 mm diameter wire rod in the local Omani market are currently at $550/mt ex-works, while traders' wire rod offers for the same specification are in the range of $555-570/mt delivered. Market sources state that suppliers are willing to allow significant room for negotiation, also depending on tonnages. Far Eastern wire rod offers to Oman are currently at average price levels of $450-470/mt CFR. Demand received by domestic producers in the local Omani market is now on the low side, with buyers showing more interest in imported products.
