SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

589-597

Thrace

586-601

Izmir

584-589

Iskenderun

600-605

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis.

Prices in the Turkish domestic wire rod market are at $584-605/mt + VAT ex-works, indicating some decreases as compared to last week. Amid the gradual price decline in the local wire rod market, buyers have remained cautious and prefer to postpone their purchases of large volumes, resulting in weak demand. In addition, the slowdown in the sales of steel mesh producers, who use wire rod as feedstock, impacting wire rod demand negatively. Meanwhile, CIS wire rod offers for Turkey stand in the range of $570-575/mt FOB, though no deals have been heard at this level yet.
