Ex-China rebar and wire rod export prices move sideways

During the week ending April 13, Chinese export offers of construction steel products have followed a stable trend. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeastern Asia given by Chinese steel mills are at $350-360/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers given by Chinese suppliers are at $360-370/mt FOB, both remaining stable compared to the previous week.

Recent declines seen in iron ore and domestic rebar and wire rod prices have been the main factors affecting ex-China long steel export prices. However, following the considerable declines already seen, traders are now less willing to lower their rebar and wire rod export prices further. It is expected that Chinese rebar and wire rod export prices will move on a stable trend in the coming week.
