Over the past week, prices in the local Turkish rebar market have moved on a fluctuating trend, increasing by TRY 25-26/mt in the Marmara and Iskenderun regions, while remaining stable in the Karabuk region. Meanwhile, Turkish steel producer Kardemir closed its domestic rebar sales on Friday, November 9, after selling about 34,000 mt in total amid increased demand as a result of revising its prices downwards on Thursday, November 8, with the option for its customers on sales on credit. Currently, buyers in the local Turkish rebar markets are making bookings only to meet their immediate needs and have not started replenishing their stocks yet. As a result, demand is slack.
On the other hand, as of today, November 12, Turkish producer Icdas revised its prices upwards by $25-26/mt to TRY 2,864/mt ($522/mt) + VAT ex-works in Marmara region, while its rebar prices in Biga, Canakkale in northwestern Turkey are now at TRY 2,831/mt ($516/mt) + VAT ex-works.
As of today, November 12, traders’ rebar offers in the Turkish domestic market are as follows:
