SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

378-384

Thrace

Izmir

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, over the past week domestic producers' wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have decreased by TRY 15-20/mt on average, while prices on US dollar basis have fallen by $8-10/mt on average over the same period due to fluctuations of the exchange rate. Market players state that demand in the local Turkish wire rod market has declined further in the same period and is currently at medium levels. Accordingly, Turkish producers have been forced to adjust their prices downwards.
