It is observed that, having started the current week at low levels, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has failed to recover in subsequent days due to the ongoing negative outlook for the local economy. Despite the decreases recorded in import scrap quotations in Turkey, domestic rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara region have increased by TRY 10/mt as compared to the levels observed at the beginning of the current week due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, with prices in other regions remaining stable. Additionally, demand in the local Turkish rebar market is not expected to revive in the short term amid the ongoing crisis in the construction sector.
