Having made a quiet start to the current week, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has followed a fluctuating trend in the following days. Despite higher import scrap prices in Turkey, the upward movement of the local Turkish rebar market has remained limited due to the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. On the other hand, after revising its rebar sales prices to TRY 2,416 TRY/mt ($452/mt) ex-works, including 18 percent VAT yesterday, January 23, Kardemir has received demand for 19,250 mt of rebar.
