China origin rebar has been offered to South Korea at $440-450/mt FOB for 2,000 mt of 12-14 mm diameter, at $420-430/mt FOB for 3,000 mt of 16-25 mm diameter, and at $425/mt FOB for 1,000 mt of 32 mm diameter, on theoretical weight basis via payment by letter of credit for late April shipment. SteelOrbis has learned that this offer price is based on FOB Tianjin Port, China, and that the items in question will be produced according to British standards. Currently, the domestic sales prices for rebar are increasing slightly compared with the previous several days. This is because some Chinese mills have hiked their ex-factory prices for such items. Accordingly, offer prices to other countries are also showing an upward movement.
