Brazilian rebar export offers are stable at the level of $455/mt, the same as two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In August, Brazil exported 25,800 mt of rebar, against 19,200 mt in July. South American countries were the main destination, 25,500 mt at $504/mt, while 300 mt was shipped to Benin at $688/mt, both FOB conditions and different quality grades. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (21,000 mt) and Gerdau (4,800 mt).
The last offer for import rebar from China was priced at $532.50/mt, CFR conditions to a port in the South or Southeast coast of the country, with reference to the QC/HRB400 grade, stable from two weeks ago.
In the domestic market, rebar remains offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 3,876/mt ($728/mt), stable in BRL from two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s Southeast and South regions. For the North and Northeastern regions, prices are reportedly BRL 50/mt higher, under the same conditions.
