The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is now $730/mt, against $790/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In September, Brazil exported 21,600 mt of rebar, while importing 28,900 mt of the product, against 26,300 mt and 27,500 mt, respectively, in August.
ArcelorMittal exported in September 13,900 mt at $794/mt to Bolivia and 300 mt at $940/mt to Paraguay, while Gerdau exported 6,000 mt at $726/mt to Peru, 900 mt at $762/mt to Paraguay, 300 mt at $940/mt to Benin and 200 mt at $638/mt to Argentina, all FOB conditions.
All the imports were from Turkey, at $657/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 6,384/mt ($1,154/mt), against BRL 6,639/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
