Will US HDG prices continue to rise?

Spot market prices for US domestic HDG coil have continued to remain stable, although demand is better-than-average. Lead times for US HDG coil are “trending somewhere between 8 and 10 weeks,” sources note, adding that HDG is currently the strongest flat rolled steel product.

It’s further speculated that the reluctance of customers to accept higher US HRC prices may lead to a third flat rolled steel price increase, although many question whether market fundamentals would support full acceptance.
