For the third week in a row, offer prices for US import HDG and Galvalume have not moved, although traders continue to report strong interest in booking offshore. Buyers in the US are reportedly uncertain whether the US domestic flats market has leveled out at last, although planned maintenance outages at several US flats mills this fall is leading some buyers to predict US domestic flats prices will remain high for the foreseeable future, which is a decent incentive to book imports.
