It’s been long rumored that trade cases against offshore producers of cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dipped galvanized (HDG) steel were in the works; the petitions in the HDG case were file earlier this week and SteelOrbis sources say that at this point, it’s not a matter of “if” a CRC case is coming, it’s simply a matter of when.
In terms of market prices, those have held stable since our last report a week ago. The average US spot price transaction range remains at approximately $28-$29 cwt. ($617-$639/mt or $560-$580/nt), ex-Midwest mill since our last report a week ago and offshore offer prices have also trended neutral.
