Turkish PPGI prices move sideways

Demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market has remained slack in the past week. Last week, domestic producers’ local PPGI prices increased due to the uptrend in prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for PPGI production - after the Feast of Sacrifice holiday. However, Turkish PPGI producers have maintained their PPGI prices unchanged this week, due to weak demand and the sideways movement of domestic HRC prices. Accordingly, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $870-915/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $720-740/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $620-665/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, Turkish export prices for 0.5 mm PPGI have remained stable over the past week in the range of $700-740/mt FOB, while demand for Turkish PPGI exports is still at weak levels.
