Turkish PPGI prices increase

Last week, prices in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market remained stable week on week, due to the stable trend of prices of domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for PPGI production. This week, demand for domestic PPGI in Turkey is at medium levels, while domestic producers’ local PPGI prices have increased by $15/mt week on week due to the uptrend of HRC prices. Accordingly, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $895-940/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $745-765/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $635-680/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, demand for ex-Turkey PPGI in the export markets has recovered slightly over the past week, but is still at weak levels. However, Chinese HRC domestic and export offers have moved upwards in the same period, prompting ex-Asia HRC offers to the global markets to rise. In line with this uptrend, Turkish PPGI offers to the export markets have increased by $15/mt week on week to the range of $725-765/mt FOB.
