Turkish PPGI market moves sideways

Demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market had recovered slightly after Ramadan, while price inquiries had increased in the same period. However, SteelOrbis has been informed that transaction activity in the local Turkish PPGI market has slowed down due to the ongoing political tension in the country following the coup attempt on July 15, with demand at low levels. With prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for PPGI production - remaining stable during the past week, Turkish PPGI producers' prices have also moved sideways this week. Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $800-855/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $670-700/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $550-605/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis, exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish PPGI in the export markets is still weak. Turkish PPGI export prices have remained stable week on week at the range of $650-700/mt FOB.
