Though end-user demand has remained low and has made trade difficult, relatively consistent hot rolled coil (HRC) and scrap prices have continued to have a direct impact on Turkish flat steel spot prices. Consequently, traders have decided to keep their offers stable as they did in the previous week. In the meanwhile, some traders have continued to offer cheaper prices compared to those in the general market in an effort to attract more customers and stimulate trade.
During the past week, workable domestic hot rolled sheet prices have remained stable at roughly $700-720/mt ex-warehouse. As for cold rolled sheet, the majority of sellers have submitted offers at around $790-820/mt ex-warehouse, which is the same as last week.
However, as previously mentioned, a few traders are providing both hot rolled and cold rolled sheets at substantially lower prices than those observed in the general market in an attempt to attract additional demand. As a result, offers for hot rolled sheets are at approximately $670-680/mt ex-warehouse, while offers for cold rolled sheets are at around $740-770/mt ex-warehouse.
