As April 28, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have declined week on week, while transaction activity in the domestic market has improved and is now at medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
In the first half of the past week, domestic PPGI prices continued to decline, while some traders started to conclude purchases due to the significant decrease already seen in prices, resulting in medium levels of transaction activity in the domestic market. In the latter part of the week, domestic PPGI prices started to rebound following the increases seen in the domestic ferrous metal futures market and also amid the improved sentiment and rebound of prices observed in the domestic finished steel and semi-finished steel markets. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely edge up slightly in the coming week.
