The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $1,050/mt today, against $1,025/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In October, Brazil exported 10,100 mt and imported 29,300 mt of HDG, against respectively 19,100 mt and 44,900 mt in September.
The main destinations of the exports in October were South American countries (8,300 mt at $1,930/mt) and Egypt (1,800 mt at $342/mt), FOB conditions, while the exporters were Usiminas (9,100 mt) and ArcelorMittal (800 mt). Smaller volumes were exported by traders and by CSN.
The imports were from China (26,300 mt at $747/mt), South Korea (2,400 mt at $1,018/mt) and Europe (500 mt at $1,169/mt), also FOB conditions. Smaller volumes were imported from Argentina and India.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,400/mt ($1,309/mt), against BRL 6,300/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
