Brazilian slab producers have reportedly closed deals for the first slab shipments of November at $555/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, stable in relation to the last deals closed for shipments of October.
In August, Brazil exported 580,800 mt and imported 78,000 mt of slab, against respectively 463,700 mt and 82,800 mt in July.
In August, Ternium exported 247,300 mt of slab at $796/mt to the US and 28,000 mt at $695/mt to Argentina, while ArcelorMittal Tubarão exported 109,500 mt at $668/mt to the US and 51,300 mt at $542/mt to Turkey, and ArcelorMittal Pecem exported 86,800 mt at $766/mt to the US, 36,500 mt at $794/mt to Mexico and 21,400 mt at $647/mt to Germany, all FOB conditions.
Meanwhile, Usiminas imported 29,200 mt of slab at $583/mt from Russia and 17,000 mt at $673/mt from China, while CSN imported 31,800 mt at $443/mt from Russia, also FOB conditions.
