Amid upbeat sentiments in the import hot rolled coil (HRC) market in Pakistan, coupled with the continued devaluation of the national currency against the US dollar, Pakistani producers of cold rolled (CR) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils have decided to increase their offers lately. Accordingly, today, December 13, local prices of CRC and HDG in Pakistan have increased by PKR 2,000/mt (around $9/mt), though given the unfavorable end-user demand in the country it still remains to be seen whether the suppliers will be successful.
Meanwhile, suppliers of SAE 1006 HRC from China have started to test the Pakistani market with offers at $615-620/mt CFR Karachi, up at least $15/mt from the previous levels. Offers for ex-China SS400 HRC have settled at $590-605/mt CFR compared to $590/mt CFR previously.
