According to market sources, prices in the local pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market in Turkey have remained stable over the past week, while no improvement has been seen in demand. Turkish buyers are still cautious about concluding deals, despite expectations of an increase in domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices and in spite of increased PPGI demand in the export markets. Currently, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $835-860/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $720-755/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $655-690/mt, all moving sideways compared to last week. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis, exclude 18 percent VAT, and are for May production.

On the other hand, Turkish PPGI export transaction prices have remained stable week on week at $700-750/mt FOB, while demand is at medium levels, though, in particular, it is stronger in the Middle East and CIS. Market sources state that, with the help of better weather conditions, demand is expected to be at current levels until Ramadan.
