New import HRC offers for Turkish market

Demand for import hot rolled coil (HRC) in Turkey has remained slack this week, just like in the previous week. With the announcement of the termination of the antidumping (AD) duty investigation on hot rolled flat steel imports from seven countries including Russia, upon the withdrawal of the application made by three Turkish steelmakers, a Russian steel producer has made several HRC price offers to Turkey by increasing its prices to $500/mt CFR this week. Market players state that Turkish steel producers have followed this uptrend and revised their prices upwards.

Meanwhile, ex-Ukraine HRC offers to Turkey have increased to $500-510/mt CFR this week. However, ex-CIS HRC offers to Turkey have been few since CIS-based suppliers prefer to sell their product to their domestic market, where demand is at decent levels.

On the other hand, no ex-Iran HRC offers have been heard in the Turkish market, since Iranian suppliers prefer to focus on the Middle East for their sales.
