Mexican domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) prices fell US$20/mt in the last four weeks to reach US$853/mt ex-mill.

Special flats steels are experiencing similar behavior in the global market with a downward trend.

In Mexico, the industry expected a rebound in demand this year in the automotive industry and, to some extent, the construction sector in some areas, as the federal government released an election year budget.

However, the global behavior of the steel market does not see a favorable outlook, especially in the Latin America region, where dumped imports are affecting demand for local products.
