SteelOrbis has heard that in the local Italian market there have been HDG offers from stocks at the Italian ports at the price level of €400-420/mt ($543-570/mt) FOT.
Meanwhile, ex-India offers to Italy for 0.6 mm 100 gr/m² zinc coated HDG are currently at price levels of €460-470/mt ($624-638/mt) CIF Italy for May shipments. Additionally, there are some offers from countries such as South Korea and Taiwan to Italy for specific sizes at price levels of €430-460/mt ($584-625/mt) CIF Italy. Also, it is heard that a HDG deal has been concluded from Turkey to Italy at €380/mt ($516/mt) CFR FO for 90-day deferred payment. On the other hand, it is heard that the Italian producers have been giving offers at suitable base prices for actual HDG sales.
With China's export rebate rates for certain steel products due to be increased as of April 1, it is expected that European buyers will likely decide depending on the offer levels coming from China. Thus, they will most likely wait until Chinese offer levels become definite before buying.
