CRC import prices decline in Brazil

CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated today at $1,100/mt, against $1,200/mt two weeks ago, CFR conditions, a trader in the northeastern region of Brazil told SteelOrbis.

In September, Brazil exported 2,500 mt of CRC, while importing 21,000 mt of the product, against 1,900 mt and 45,400 mt, respectively, in August.

The imports of September were chiefly from Asia (19,400 mt, of which 18,200 mt at $817/mt from China) and 1,600 mt at $851/mt from Europe, both FOB conditions.

The exports were from Usiminas (2,300 mt at $905/mt) and ArcelorMittal (200 mt at $838/mt) also FOB conditions, destined to Europe (1,300 mt) and South American countries (1,200 mt).

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 7,100/mt ($1,286/mt), against BRL 7,400/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
