Zapsib sees net profit of Ruble 600 million in Q1

In Q1 2011, Russia's West Siberian Iron and Steel Plant (Zapsib, a subsidiary of Evraz), the largest steel mill in the Siberian region and the eastern-most steel mill in the Russian Federation, recorded a net profit of Ruble 599.6 million ($21.3 million), compared to a net loss of Ruble 230.0 million ($8.2 million) in Q1 2010, and down 41 percent compared to Q4 2010.

During the given period, the company's sales proceeds reached Ruble 30.74 billion ($1.1 billion), up 49 percent year on year and up seven percent compared to Q4 2010.
