Yangshan to build 21 new berths

According to the recent Shanghai Port Development Forum, Shanghai Yangshan Deep-Water Port will continue its Phase II, Phase III, and Phase IV during the "11th Five-Year Plan" period, which will include three 100,000-mt berths, eight 70,000-mt berths, and two 35,000-mt berths. By 2010, the container throughput capacity of the port will reach 15 million TEUs, equivalent to nearly 70 percent of the actual container throughput of Shanghai port last year.
