Xinyu Steel to eliminate three outdated revolving furnaces

According to an announcement issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Xinyu, Jiangxi-based Chinese steelmaker Xinyu Iron and Steel Corporation Ltd ( XISCO) will have to eliminate outdated steelmaking equipment with an annual capacity of 1 million mt, including three revolving furnaces which have now all been shut down.

It is expected that the three furnaces in question will be dismantled completely by the end of the current year and that the operations of Xinyu Steel will not be adversely affected.
