Xingtai Iron and Steel to transfer 405,000 mt of steelmaking capacity

The Industry and Information Technology Department of China’s Hebei Province has announced that Hebei-based Xingtai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd will close and transfer the capacity of a 50 mt converter located in Xingtai city, which has an annual steelmaking capacity of 760,000 mt.

Gansu Province-based steelmaker Lanxin Iron and Steel Co., Ltd will receive 405,000 mt of the capacity in question, while the remaining 355,000 mt capacity will be used in Xingtai Iron and Steel’s upgrading and relocation project.
