Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhu Fuxin Iron and Steel Co. Ltd has issued details of its capacity replacement plans. Accordingly, the company will build one 1,280 cubic meter blast furnace, while eliminating its two 550 cubic meter blast furnaces.
The new furnace will have an annual steelmaking capacity of 1.18 million mt, with construction starting in December 2019 and due to be completed in December 2021. It will replace the two smaller blast furnaces which have an aggregate annual steelmaking capacity of 1.18 million mt.
