Vyska Steel Works (Vyksa), a subsidiary of the Russian pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK), has increased its production capacity of large diameter pipe used in the construction of trunk pipelines.

The increase in production capacity has been achieved through the startup of the second forming press, a new assembly welding mill and an external welding mill, along with other equipment, at Vyksa's rolling line for pipes of diameter up to 1,420 mm. As a result, the line's annual production capacity has been increased to 950,000 metric tons.

Vyksa invested about Ruble1.2 billion ($51 million) in the installation of the new equipment, which was supplied by German company SMS Meer.
