Voestalpine’s net profit up 61.6 percent in April-December

Austrian steelmaker voestalpine AG has announced its financial results for the first nine months ended December 31 of the fiscal year 2017-18.

Accordingly, voestalpine's net profit in the given period decreased to €555.9 million, up 61.6 percent year on year. The revenues of the company amounted to €9.46 billion, rising by 16.8 percent year on year. In the period in question, the company's EBITDA was €1.40 billion, increasing by 32.5 percent year on year, while the EBITDA margin rose from 13.1 percent in the same period of the previous financial year to 14.9 percent.

 According to voestalpine, in the given period it benefitted from extraordinarily high demand in its key customer segments, notably the European automotive industry. Combining continuous innovation and consistent quality optimization across its entire product portfolio enabled the company to achieve an operating result as of the third quarter that comes close to the result for the entire prior year.
