Voestalpine to build steel service center in Poland

According to the statement released by Austrian Voestalpine AG, the company will build a steel service center (SSC) in South Poland as a part of its strategy to expand in the new middle and eastern European countries. Voestalpine AG officials stated that the company will build a SSC in South Poland due to the growth in customer-specific pre-processed flat steel products in the EU member countries. The annual capacity of the SSC will be 150'000 metric tons at the initial stage. Voestalpine AG will invest €18 million in the project, which is scheduled to be completed and become operational in mid-2006.
