Vietnam begins construction at iron ore mine

The Vietnam-China Minerals and Metallurgical Company has started construction work on the infrastructure at Vietnam's second largest iron ore mine, Quy Sa Van Ban, which is located in the country's northern province of Lao Cai. The mine, with a production capacity of 1.5-3 million metric tons of iron ore a year, is scheduled to start operations in the first quarter of 2008. Quy Sa Van Ban iron ore mine is considered to be very crucial to Vietnam's steel industry.
