Vale's iron ore exports up 6.1 percent in Jan-July

In July this year, Brazilian miner Vale's iron ore export volume totaled 26.02 million mt, up 14.2 percent compared to July 2014 and remained stable compared to June, according to Brazil's National Union of the Industry of Extraction of Iron and Base Metals (Sinferbase). In the first seven months of the current year, Vale's iron ore exports rose by 6.1 percent year on year to 163.03 million metric tons. 
 
Meanwhile, in July this year Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market amounted to 1.07 million mt, increasing by 8.08 percent year on year and down by 17.5 percent month on month. In the first seven months of this year, Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market totaled 7.23 million mt, falling by 16.8 percent as compared with the same period last year.
