Vale loads first commercial shipment at its S11D iron ore mine

Brazil-based miner and iron ore producer, Vale, announced it loaded the first iron ore shipment at its S11D iron ore mine, located in the city of Canaa dos Carajas, in the state of Para.

According to the iron ore producer, it loaded 26,500 mt of the commodity into three ships at the company’s Ponta da Madeira port, located in the city of Sao Luis do Maranhao, in the state of Maranhao. Each vessel has a 73,800 mt capacity.

The product was transported by railway from Vale’s S11D mine to its Ponta da Madeira port in Sao Luis do Maranhao.

The company said the remaining capacity in each of the three ships was completed with iron ore coming from Vale’s other mines at its North System.
