The US industry filed antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) petitions Wednesday against seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line, and pressure pipe from China.

The petitions were submitted on behalf of US Steel and V&M Star L.P.

Preliminary injury determinations by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) for these cases are both set for Monday, November 2, 2009. If the investigations follow a normal schedule, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) will make preliminary dumping or subsidy determinations on February 23, 2010 for the AD case and December 10, 2009 for CVD case.

SteelOrbis notes that today's filings, combined with the US industry's previous successful trade cases against other types of steel pipe from China, encompass virtually all steel pipe imports from China.

Stay tuned to SteelOrbis to learn more information about these cases against Chinese seamless pipe as they become available.
