US rebar exports up 29.7 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 10,753 mt in June 2019, up 29.7 percent from May but down 76.7 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $8.1 million in June, compared to $6.4 million in the previous month and $31.0 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in June with 7,729 mt, compared to 5,263 mt in May and 43,473 mt in June 2018. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 1,807 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in June.
