US HRC exports down 24.9 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 36,486 mt in September 2018, down 24.9 percent from August and down 66.7 percent from September 2017 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $30.7 million in September, compared to $41.2 million in the previous month and $69.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in September with 19,414 mt, compared to 29,314 mt in August and 61,407 mt in September 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 12,409 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in September.
