On April 17, 1997, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) imposed an antidumping duty order on certain steel concrete reinforcing bars (rebars) from Turkey.

On November 15, 2006, the DOC initiated a new shipper review of the antidumping duty order on rebars imported from Ege Celik Endustrisi Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S, and its affiliated export trading company Ege Dis Ticaret A.S (collectively Ege Celik). The review, which was initiated upon Ege Celik's request, covered the period from April 1, 2006, through September 30, 2006. In its request, Ege Celik certified that it did not export the subject merchandise to the US during the period of the investigation, which was from January 1, 1995, through December 31, 1995.

In the preliminary results dated September 10, 2007, the DOC determined that Ege Celik did not sell the subject merchandise at less than normal value during the period of review. Accordingly, the preliminary duty margin for the producer was set as 0.00 percent.

Based on the comments received, the DOC has decided not to make any changes in the margin calculation. Accordingly, the final results of this review do not differ from the preliminary results.
