On October 16, 2019, the Department of Commerce (DOC) announced its affirmative final determination in the antidumping duty (AD) investigation of imports of carbon and alloy steel threaded rod from Thailand.

The DOC assigned a dumping rate of 20.83 percent to Tycoons Worldwide Group (Thailand) Co. Ltd., as well as all other Thai producers and exporters.

The petitioner is the Vulcan Threaded Products Inc. (Pelham, AL). In 2018, imports of carbon and alloy steel threaded rod were valued at an estimated $5.3 million.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to make its final determination on or about November 29, 2019. If the ITC makes an affirmative final determination that imports of carbon and alloy steel threaded rod from Thailand materially injure, or threaten material injury to, the domestic industry, the DOC will issue an AD order. If the ITC makes a negative determination of injury, the investigation will be terminated.
