US company to establish a scrap metal plant in Pakistan

According to recent news in the market, International Material Development, a US company has offered to establish a super-shredder plant for scrap metals in Pakistan. The offer was made by a US delegation, which was on a visit to Karachi, Pakistan with the purpose of conducting a feasibility study in the region. The delegation asked for government's help for the project. International Material Development announced that it plans to set up the subject plant in collaboration with M/s Monica International Inc. It is stated that the super-shredder scrap metal plant, with a processing capacity of 15'000 to 30'000 tons per month, is expected to revolutionize scrap metal industry in Pakistan. Moreover, the facility is expected to provide cost competitive scrap for steel producers in Asia. The Ministry for Industries and Production has welcomed the project and announced that it will provide necessary infrastructure for the project.
