US cold finished bar exports down 47 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold finished bar totaled 5,273 mt in April 2020, down 47.0 percent from March and down 27.4 percent from April 2019 levels. By value, cold finished bar exports totaled $14.1 million in April, compared to $23.5 million in the previous month and $19.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cold finished bar to Mexico in April with 2,751 mt, compared to 4,760 mt in March and 3,346 mt in April 2019. Other top destinations included Canada, with 1,662 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cold finished bar exports in April.
