US and Canadian rig counts recover after drop

According to the most recent report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending October 28, The US rig count increased by eight following a 10 rig drop the week prior, bringing the total to 2,012. This reflects a year-on-year increase of 349 rigs.

US oil rigs fell by one last week to 1,078, but were still up 382 year-on-year. The US gas rig count increased by seven to 934 rigs, but still registered a 33 rig year-on-year decline.

The Canadian rig count increased by two in the last week to 499 rigs, reflecting a 66-rig year-on-year increase.
